A winter of above average rainfall (over 20 inches) soaked into our thirsty soils in the Cuyama Valley. The grass and flower seeds sleeping in the soil were ready to explode into a glorious spring. We shared this with family and friends at our Wildflower and Wine Event on March 31st. 65 people joined us enjoying our special Dutch Oven barbecue; the new releases of our 2017 Shiraz, 2018 Rosé and 2018 Pedro Ximénez wines; a tour of our dry-farmed vineyard….And, of course exploring the great diversity of wildflowers after an introduction from Steve who enjoyed once again teaching about ecology and botany. We are pleased to donate a portion of the proceeds to Los Padres Forest Watch for their work protecting the condor habitat in the Los Padres National Forest which is our backyard!
