What a summer! Steady heat through July and August brought on an early harvest. The Shiraz was harvested the third weekend in August during a heatwave. Folks put all of their effort into harvesting the vines as they feasted on food and wine. Then the weather cooled for the Zin/Pedro harvest two weeks later. Again folks gathered ,harvesting a beautiful crop of Zinfandel one day and the Pedro the following morning. Together we brought in the harvest with great joy. We were treated to a spectacular double rainblow as part of the finale. In just two weekends, the harvest was done. Thank you harvesters! The grapes have finished their fermentation and now rest in the barrels. Colin, our winemaker (check him out among the barrels in the final photo) looks forward to the quality wines he is nurturing.
